Islands hopping in the Greek Cycladic archipelago...
...and a couple of days in historic Athens, July 2005.

Some advices from the top of our heads :

  1. We had no real problems to find cash dispensers, hotel rooms or ferry tickets.

  2. To get good rooms, try to find local serious agencies instead of relying to screaming room pushers at the port.

  3. One exception was Milos, no room agency did exist and room pushers sometimes got competitive bidding.

  4. Busses and ferries were following the schedules, but they were most often delayed.

  5. Prices are most often comparable to the Swedish price level.

About the places we visited :

  1. Naousa on Paros was a charming fishing village with a very nice port. Recomended.

  2. Naxos was "destroyed" by mass tourism. The old town was very beautiful but on the whole not recomended.

  3. Santorini was unbelievable beautiful. If you can stand the prices level, this is an experience. Don't miss Agia Anna.

  4. Egiali on Amorgos was very relaxed and small scale. Not for stressed people, but otherwise clearly recommended.

  5. Milos was beautiful but a bit troublesome. Very special beaches like Sarakiniko and Papafraga recomended.

  6. And Athena was a historical explosion. Clearly recommendable, everything but the restaurant rabid salespeople.
